The department of oncology is the most powerful one in Yangzhou region. There are 16 doctors, among which, 4 owns assist-senior job titles, 1 PhD and 8 Masters. The department has 200 authorized beds, and annually takes more than 3,000 inpatients who suffer from various malignant tumors. The department of oncology has also carried out scientific researches on early diagnosis of tumor and the optimum treatment scheme. Now, we independently carry out not only routine radiotherapy, but also 3-Deminsion conformal radiotherapy. Further more, the intensity-modulated conformal radiotherapy was firstly implemented in Jiangsu Province.

The department of oncology takes great stress on speciality development through a combination of equipment and excellent specialists, It integrates radiotherapy, chemotherapy, high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy and biotherapy into a comprehensive therapy center.

It is equipped with a series of world advanced radiotherapy equipments: double photon linear accelerators made by Varian company in US and Siemens in German; a balance CT simulator, which is specially used in simulation of cancer radiotherapy and 3D treatment; a routine simulator made by Toshiba; a set of 3D Treatment planning system (TPS) and so on. All the advanced equipments above make a solid foundation for the implementation of conformal radiotherapy and intensity-modulated radiotherapy. It offers a new way for treatment of the late-phase tumor patients.

Linear Accelerators:Varian Inc. and Simens Inc. high-energy linear accelerators, All are the world's advanced medical linear accelerator system. Clinical applications: esophageal cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, liver malignancies and so on.

3D CT-Sim

As the development of medical imaging technology and computer technology,CT has been gradually applied to simulation of radiation therapy Simulation-based precision radiotherapy has become the modern trend of radiotherapy. It greatly enhances the accuracy of radiation therapy and raises the rate of tumor local control and reduces normal tissue radiation injury.
