Respiratory Department was founded in 1954, there are 20 specialists nowadays, including four chief physicians, 5 associated chief physicians, three of them have doctor's degree and seven of them have master's degree. It was qualified as one of the trail bases for national drug clinical authentication in 2007. The department is consisted of five parts, including two professional endemic areas (112 beds), respiratory intensive care unit (5 beds), bronchoscope examining room, pulmonary functional examining room, and atomization treating room. The clinical work and researching fields of the department mainly involve asthma, pulmonary infectious diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pleural diseases and pulmonary tumors. It has about 24000 outpatients and 2500 in patients every year.

Muyun Zhu:Professor, Chief Physician, Vice director of internal medicine department, Director of respiratory department. Special Interests: Treatment of severe respiratory failure, asthma, hemoptysis and pneumothorax .He is good at many techniques including the application of breathing machines, tracheoscope, pulmonary function instrument, and the atomization treatment for asthma and chronic bronchitis. He also works for united clinical center for diagnosing and treating chest tumor.

Yunmo Li : Associate Professor, Associate Chief Physician, MD, Master tutor, Vice director of respiratory department. Special Interests: bronchofiberscopy, respiratory infection, pulmonary tumor, pulmonary thromboembolism, interstitial lung disease.

Xingxiang Xu : Professor, Chief Physician, MD, Master tutor, Vice director of respiratory department. Special Interests: He has abundant experience in diagnosing and treating frequently encountered respiratory diseases and puzzling cases, especially lung cancer, bronchial asthma, and pulmonary fibrosis.

Qian Huang : Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Director of medical science department of medical school of Yangzhou University. Special Interests: Chronic coughing, Asthma, Pneumonia, Pulmonary tumor. And some rarely encountered diseases: like Wegener granulomatosis, pulmonary amyloidosis, pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, Cryptococcus pneumonia, and so on.
